Privacy Policy

Effective: November 6, 2026.

The Open Source Endowment Foundation (“OSE”, “we”) runs endowment.dev, api.endowment.dev, and mcp.endowment.dev. This policy tells you what data we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We do not sell your data. We do not show ads.

Who we are

Open Source Endowment Foundation, a US 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN 33-3502715). 2261 Market Street Suite 91962, San Francisco, CA, USA. Contact: privacy@endowment.dev.

When you visit the site

  • Analytics. We use OpenPanel to count page views and clicks on links and buttons. OpenPanel receives your browser type, device type, referring page, and approximate location from your IP address. It does not use cookies.
  • Visitor ID. Your browser stores a random ID in local storage (ose_visitor_id). It lets us connect your visits, form submissions, and donations. It does not contain your name or email. To reset it, clear the site data in your browser.
  • Hosting and security. Cloudflare hosts the site and processes your IP address to deliver pages and block attacks.

When you submit a form

The project and board nomination forms collect:

  • Your name and email.
  • The project or candidate you nominate, and your comment.
  • Technical data: IP address, approximate country and city, browser user agent, browser language, referring page, time to fill the form, and your visitor ID.

We use this data to review nominations, reply to you, and stop spam. Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you are not a bot. Resend sends the confirmation email to you and the notification email to our team. After you submit, we also attach your name and email to your visitor ID in OpenPanel.

When you donate

Payment platforms process your payment: Every.org, Stripe, GitHub Sponsors, or our bank, Mercury. We never see your full card or bank details. The platform sends us your name, email, amount, date, and the data you choose to share.

We use this data to keep financial records, meet tax and legal duties, send receipts, and thank you.

Donor list. On the site and in our public API, we show each donor’s name and giving tier (for example, “10K+”). We can also show a photo, job title, and GitHub or social profile when they are public. To stay off the list, choose to donate anonymously, or email us and we remove you. We never publish donor emails or exact amounts.

How long we keep data

  • Donation records: as long as US tax and charity law requires.
  • Nominations and emails to us: until you ask us to delete them.
  • Analytics: aggregated and kept for trend reports.

Your choices

Email privacy@endowment.dev to see, correct, or delete your data. We keep data that tax law requires us to keep.

The site does not change its behavior when your browser sends a Do Not Track signal. To stop analytics, use a content blocker.
